NBK–Egypt, ADCB, and Bank NXT Lead Private Sector Banks in Mortgage Financing Growth During H1 2025
NBK-Egypt topped the list of the fastest-growing private sector banks in mortgage financing, with a growth rate of 44.4%, followed by ADCB-Egypt in second place with 33.4%, and Bank NXT in third with 33.2%.
Meanwhile, QNB–Egypt and CIB ranked fourth and fifth with growth rates of 19.5% and 18.3%, respectively.
EGBANK, Crédit Agricole-Egypt, and saib were also among the top 10 fastest-growing private sector banks in mortgage financing by the end of June 2025, with growth rates of 15.7%, 14.9%, and 8.7%, respectively.
The First Bank report on the fastest-growing private sector banks in mortgage financing during the first half of 2025 revealed that National Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «NBK-Egypt» topped the ranking after its mortgage portfolio grew by 44.4%, reaching EGP 2.56 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 1.78 billion at the end of 2024.
The report analyzed the mortgage financing portfolios of 15 private sector banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for which financial data was available. It showed that 10 banks achieved positive growth in their mortgage portfolios, while 5 banks saw declines during H1 2025, based on the independently published financial statements of each bank.
It is worth noting that private sector banks are defined as those in which private ownership exceeds 50%, according to data from Egypt’s Ministry of Public Enterprise Sector.
Returning to the ranking, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank-Egypt «ADCB-Egypt» secured second place, with its mortgage portfolio increasing by 33.4% to EGP 296.43 million by the end of June 2025, up from EGP 222.23 million at the end of 2024.
Bank NXT ranked third, with its mortgage loans rising by 33.2% to EGP 2.40 billion by June 2025, compared to EGP 1.80 billion at the end of 2024.
In fourth place, Qatar National Bank- Egypt’s «QNB-Egypt» mortgage loans grew by 19.5%, reaching EGP 10.04 billion by mid-2025, compared to EGP 8.40 billion at the end of 2024.
Commercial International Bank «CIB» came fifth, with its mortgage portfolio rising by 18.3% to EGP 6.83 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 5.77 billion at the end of 2024.
EGBANK ranked sixth with a 15.7% increase in its mortgage portfolio, reaching EGP 597.11 million by June 2025, up from EGP 516 million in 2024.
Crédit Agricole–Egypt came seventh, with its portfolio rising 14.9% to EGP 1.70 billion, compared to EGP 1.48 billion in 2024.
saib ranked eighth with 8.7% growth, as its mortgage loans increased to EGP 1.79 billion by June 2025, compared to EGP 1.65 billion a year earlier.
Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt came ninth with 4.9% growth, reaching EGP 2.50 billion, while ABC Bank–Egypt rounded out the top ten, with its mortgage portfolio increasing by 1.8% to EGP 809.16 million by June 2025, compared to EGP 795.04 million at the end of 2024.
