Bank NXT, Al Baraka, and ABK–Egypt Lead Private Sector Banks in Credit Card Balance Growth During H1 2025

BANK NXT tops the list of the fastest-growing private sector banks in credit card balances, recording a growth rate of 56.1%, while Al Baraka Bank ranks second with a growth rate of 33.1%.

ABK-Egypt secures the third place with a growth rate of 26.9%, followed by SC Bank and NBK-Egypt, which hold the fourth and fifth positions with growth rates of 24.9% and 22.7%, respectively.

Meanwhile, ADCB, saib, and ABC are also among the top 10 fastest-growing private sector banks, achieving growth rates of 19.9%, 17.7%, and 16.6%, respectively.

Bank NXT topped the list of the fastest-growing private sector banks in credit card balances, recording a 56.1% growth rate during the first half of 2025, as its total credit card balances rose to EGP 612.71 million by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 392.63 million at the end of 2024.

According to the First Bank ranking of private sector banks with the fastest growth in credit card balances during the first half of 2025, all 20 private sector banks analyzed achieved positive growth rates, based on their independent financial statements published for the period.

It is worth noting that private sector banks are defined as those with private ownership exceeding 50%, according to Egypt’s Ministry of Public Enterprise Sector.

Returning to the ranking Al Baraka Bank ranked second, as its credit card balances grew by 33.1% to EGP 323.57 million by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 243.04 million in 2024.

Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «ABK-Egypt» came third, increasing its balances by 26.9% to EGP 1.09 billion, up from EGP 861.86 million in 2024.

Suez Canal Bank «SC Bank» ranked fourth, with a 24.9% rise to EGP 125.32 million, compared to EGP 100.33 million in 2024.

National Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «NBK-Egypt» took fifth place, after its balances increased by 22.7%, reaching EGP 972.61 million, up from EGP 792.99 million in 2024.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank-Egypt «ADCB-Egypt» ranked sixth, with a 19.9% increase to EGP 659.76 million, compared to EGP 550.05 million at the end of 2024.

saib Bank came seventh, recording a 17.7% increase to EGP 620.62 million, compared to EGP 527.38 million in 2024.

ABC Bank-Egypt took eighth place, growing by 16.6% to EGP 434.09 million, compared to EGP 372.28 million in 2024.

Emirates NBD-Egypt ranked ninth, with a 16.2% increase to EGP 1.56 billion, compared to EGP 1.35 billion in 2024.

Finally, Kuwait Finance House-Egypt «KFH-Egypt» rounded out the top 10, with credit card balances rising by 16% to EGP 214.68 million, compared to EGP 185.06 million in 2024.
