Faisal Islamic Bank tops the list of banks most focused on individual deposits with a concentration ratio of 97.32%… Alex Bank ranks second with 69.40%
Al Baraka Bank secures the third position with a 63.23% concentration ratio, while The United Bank and Banque du Caire take the fourth and fifth places with 61% and 58.16%, respectively.
Meanwhile, CIB, HSBC, and HDB are among the top 10 banks most focused on individual deposits, with concentration ratios of 57.16%, 54.93%, and 51.85%, respectively.
The First Bank ranking of banks most concentrated in individual deposits as of June 2025 revealed that Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt topped the list, as individual deposits accounted for approximately 97.32% of its total customer deposit portfolio. The bank’s individual deposits amounted to EGP 183.18 billion, while its total customer deposits stood at EGP 188.23 billion as of June 2025.
The list, compiled by First Bank, tracks the deposit composition trends of 25 banks operating in Egypt’s banking sector, based on their published financial statements for the period under review.
Specifically, it evaluates each bank’s ability to diversify its deposit base and attract retail clients through savings products and certificates. The ranking is based on the ratio of (individual deposits / total customer deposits), which serves as an indicator of how concentrated a bank’s deposit portfolio is in the retail segment.
Returning to the ranking Bank of Alexandria «Alex Bank» ranked second, with 69.40% of its EGP 190.59 billion in total deposits attributed to individual clients, representing EGP 132.26 billion as of June 2025.
Al Baraka Bank ranked third, with 63.23% of its EGP 114.78 billion total deposit portfolio composed of individual deposits amounting to EGP 72.57 billion.
In fourth place, The United Bank recorded a 61% concentration, with EGP 42.52 billion in individual deposits out of EGP 69.71 billion in total deposits.
Banque du Caire «BDC» ranked fifth, with retail deposits accounting for 58.16% of its total deposit base of EGP 380.45 billion, equivalent to EGP 221.26 billion in individual deposits.
Commercial International Bank «CIB» secured the sixth position, with 57.16% of its deposits coming from individuals EGP 594.61 billion out of a total EGP 1.04 trillion.
HSBC Egypt ranked seventh, with a 54.93% concentration in individual deposits, amounting to EGP 121.72 billion out of a total deposit base of EGP 221.58 billion.
In eighth place, Housing and Development Bank «HDB» recorded a 51.85% retail deposit share, with EGP 78.58 billion in individual deposits out of total deposits of EGP 151.55 billion.
National Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «NBK-Egypt» took the ninth spot, with 50.15% of its EGP 166.17 billion total deposits coming from individuals, totaling EGP 83.33 billion.
Finally, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB-Egypt» ranked tenth, with individual deposits representing 46.11% of its total deposits EGP 107.71 billion out of EGP 233.60 billion as of June 2025.
