KFH-Egypt, NBK-Egypt, and Emirates NBD-Egypt Lead Private Sector Banks in Deposit to Loan Utilization as of End-June 2025
KFH-Egypt tops the list of the best-performing private sector banks in utilizing deposits to extend loans, with a utilization ratio of 74.88%, followed by NBK-Egypt in second place with 68.96%.
Emirates NBD-Egypt ranks third with a ratio of 65.63%, while Attijariwafa Bank and QNB-Egypt secure the fourth and fifth places with utilization ratios of 59.96% and 57.79%, respectively.
FABMISR, Crédit Agricole Egypt, and Al Baraka Bank are also among the top 10 private sector banks, with utilization ratios of 57.75%, 56.96%, and 56.70%, respectively.
The First Bank ranking of the best performing private sector banks operating in Egypt’s banking sector in terms of deposit-to-loan utilization ratio as of end-June 2025 revealed that Kuwait Finance House-Egypt «KFH-Egypt» led the list, having achieved a utilization ratio of 74.88%, the bank’s total customer loan portfolio stood at EGP 93.44 billion, compared to EGP 124.79 billion in total deposits by the end of June 2025.
The First Bank report tracked deposit utilization ratios for 21 private sector banks operating in Egypt’s banking system. It showed that 20 banks achieved utilization rates ranging between 27.32% and 74.88% as of June 2025, while Faisal Islamic Bank recorded the lowest utilization ratio during the same period, according to each bank’s independently published financial statements.
It is worth noting that private sector banks are defined as those in which private capital ownership exceeds 50%, according to data from Egypt’s Ministry of Public Enterprise Sector.
Returning to the ranking National Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «NBK-Egypt» secured second place with a utilization ratio of 68.96%, as its customer loan portfolio increased to EGP 114.59 billion, compared to a deposit base of EGP 166.17 billion as of end-June 2025.
In third place, Emirates NBD-Egypt achieved a utilization ratio of 65.63%, with its customer loan portfolio reaching EGP 96.88 billion, while its total deposits amounted to EGP 147.61 billion at the end of the same period.
Attijariwafa Bank Egypt ranked fourth with a utilization ratio of 59.96%, as its total loan portfolio recorded EGP 61.40 billion and its total deposits reached EGP 102.40 billion as of June 2025.
Qatar National Bank-Egypt «QNB-Egypt» came fifth with a utilization ratio of 57.79%, supported by a loan portfolio of EGP 405.54 billion and total deposits of EGP 701.71 billion by end-June 2025.
In sixth place, First Abu Dhabi Bank-Egypt «FABMISR» achieved a utilization ratio of 57.75%, with its customer loan portfolio standing at EGP 166.61 billion, compared to total deposits of EGP 288.48 billion as of June 2025.
Crédit Agricole Egypt ranked seventh, with a utilization ratio of 56.96%, reporting EGP 59.17 billion in loans and EGP 103.89 billion in deposits by end-June 2025.
Al Baraka Bank secured eighth place, recording a utilization ratio of 56.70%, with a customer financing portfolio of EGP 65.08 billion and total deposits of EGP 114.78 billion by end-June 2025.
saib Bank ranked ninth with a utilization ratio of 56.48%, supported by a total loan portfolio of EGP 78.61 billion and total deposits of EGP 139.20 billion as of end-June 2025.
Finally, in tenth place, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «ABK-Egypt» achieved a utilization ratio of 56.33%, with total customer loans amounting to EGP 78.36 billion and total deposits of EGP 139.04 billion as of end-June 2025.
