Alex Bank, BDC, and EGBANK Lead the List of Banks Most Focused on Personal Loans as of June 2025

EGBANK ranks third with a concentration rate of 33.09%… while ABK–Egypt and saib take the fourth and fifth places with 32.69% and 26.81%, respectively
ADIB–Egypt, BANKNXT, and HD Bank are among the top 10 banks focused on personal loans, with concentration rates of 26.29%, 24.73%, and 24.02%, respectively
The First Bank ranking of banks most focused on investing in personal loans as of June 2025 revealed that Bank of Alexandria «Alex Bank» topped the list, with personal loans accounting for 42.37% of its total loan portfolio. The bank’s personal loan portfolio reached EGP 33.08 billion, while total customer loans stood at EGP 78.07 billion by the end of June 2025.
The ranking reflects the investment orientations of 23 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, based on available financial statements for the period under review—specifically at the level of personal loan portfolios. It is calculated using the ratio of (personal loans / total customer loans), providing an indicator of how concentrated each bank’s lending portfolio is in personal loans.
Returning to the list, Banque du Caire «BDC» ranked second, with personal loans representing 35.96% of its total customer loans. The bank’s personal loan portfolio amounted to EGP 79.72 billion, while total customer loans reached EGP 221.70 billion by the end of June 2025.
EGBANK came third, as its personal loans represented 33.09% of total customer loans. The bank’s total customer loans amounted to EGP 58.98 billion, while its personal loan portfolio reached EGP 19.51 billion by the end of June 2025.
Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «ABK–Egypt» ranked fourth, with personal loans making up 32.69% of its total lending portfolio, reaching EGP 25.61 billion, while total customer loans stood at EGP 78.36 billion by the end of June 2025.
saib Bank took fifth place, with personal loans representing 26.81% of total customer loans. The bank’s personal loan portfolio stood at EGP 21.07 billion, while total loans amounted to EGP 78.61 billion by the end of June 2025.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB–Egypt» ranked sixth, with personal financing accounting for 26.29% of total customer financing. Its personal finance portfolio amounted to EGP 33.71 billion, while total customer financing reached EGP 128.21 billion by the end of June 2025.
BANKNXT came seventh, with personal loans making up 24.73% of total customer loans. The bank’s total loan portfolio stood at EGP 41.01 billion, of which EGP 10.14 billion were personal loans as of June 2025.
Housing & Development Bank «HDB» ranked eighth, with personal loans accounting for 24.02% of its total lending portfolio. The bank’s personal loan portfolio amounted to EGP 14.58 billion, while total customer loans stood at EGP 60.73 billion by the end of June 2025.
Al Baraka Bank-Egypt ranked ninth, with personal financing representing 22.05% of total customer financing. The bank’s customer financing portfolio amounted to EGP 65.08 billion, of which EGP 14.35 billion were personal financings by the end of June 2025.
Finally, Crédit Agricole-Egypt ranked tenth, with personal loans representing 21.69% of total customer loans. The bank’s personal loan portfolio stood at EGP 12.84 billion, while total customer loans reached EGP 59.17 billion by the end of June 2025.
