NBK-Egypt, KFH-Egypt, and ABC are the banks most focused on corporate direct financing as of the end of June 2025

NBK-Egypt tops the list of banks most focused on direct corporate financing with a concentration ratio of 70.91%, while KFH-Egypt comes in second with a ratio of 67.28%

ABC ranks third with 65.72%, while Al Baraka and ADIB-Egypt occupy the fourth and fifth positions with concentration ratios of 62.35% and 59.36%, respectively

ADCB, ABK-Egypt, and Crédit Agricole Egypt are among the top 10 banks most focused on direct corporate financing, with concentration ratios of 53.74%, 49.32%, and 47.45%, respectively

The First Bank list of banks most focused on investment in direct corporate financing as of the end of June 2025 revealed that the Kuwait National Bank-Egypt «NBK-Egypt» topped the list, as the bank’s direct loans accounted for about 70.91% of its total customer loan portfolio, with total direct loans amounting to EGP 81.26 billion, while total customer loans reached EGP 114.59 billion as of the end of June 2025.

The list monitors investment trends among 25 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data were available for the period under review, focusing specifically on direct loan portfolios. It is based on the ratio of (Direct Loans / Total Customer Loans), which provides an indicator of how concentrated a bank’s loan portfolio is in direct loans.

Returning to the list, Kuwait Finance House-Egypt «KFH-Egypt» ranked second, with 67.28% of its total customer financing concentrated in direct financing portfolios. The total value of direct financing reached EGP 62.86 billion, while total customer financing amounted to EGP 93.44 billion as of the end of June 2025.

Arab Banking Corporation «ABC» came in third, with direct loans representing 65.72% of its total customer loans as of the end of June 2025. The bank’s total customer loans amounted to EGP 34.62 billion, while direct loans reached EGP 22.75 billion as of the end of June 2025.

Al Baraka Bank-Egypt ranked fourth, as direct financing represented 62.35% of its total customer financing as of the end of June 2025. The bank’s total customer financing reached EGP 65.08 billion, while direct financing amounted to EGP 40.57 billion as of the end of June 2025.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB-Egypt» ranked fifth, with 59.36% of its total customer financing concentrated in direct financing portfolios as of the end of June 2025. The total value of its direct financing reached EGP 76.11 billion, while total customer financing stood at EGP 128.21 billion as of the same period.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank-Egypt «ADCB» ranked sixth, as direct loans accounted for about 53.74% of its total customer loans. The total value of direct loans reached EGP 36.21 billion, while total customer loans amounted to EGP 67.39 billion as of the end of June 2025.

In seventh place came Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «ABK-Egypt», with its direct loan portfolio representing about 49.32% of its total customer loans. The total value of direct loans amounted to EGP 38.64 billion, while total customer loans reached EGP 78.36 billion as of the end of June 2025.

Crédit Agricole Egypt ranked eighth, with direct loans representing 47.45% of its total customer loans as of the end of June 2025. The total value of direct loans reached EGP 28.08 billion, while total customer loans amounted to EGP 59.17 billion as of the end of June 2025.

The United Bank came in ninth, with direct loans accounting for 46.70% of its total customer loans as of the end of June 2025. The total customer loans portfolio reached EGP 34.79 billion, while direct loans stood at EGP 16.25 billion as of the end of June 2025.

As for the tenth position, it was held by BANKNXT, where direct loans accounted for 45.08% of the bank’s total customer loans. The bank’s direct loans portfolio reached EGP 18.49 billion, while total customer loans amounted to EGP 41.01 billion as of the end of June 2025.

It is worth noting that all the figures and concentration ratios mentioned in the above analysis are based on the independently published financial statements of each bank as of the end of June 2025.
