NBE Tops the Ranking of Egypt’s Largest Banks by Capital Size with EGP 160 billion as of End-June 2025… Banque Misr Comes Second with EGP 110 billion
CIB secures third place with capital of EGP 30.71 billion, while AAIB and Banque du Caire join the top 10 with EGP 24.82 billion and EGP 20.50 billion, respectively.
The First Bank ranking of the largest Egyptian banks by capital size as of end-June 2025 reveals that the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) led the list, after its capital reached EGP 160 billion by the End-June 2025.
The ranking covers 27 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for which standalone financial statements were available as of June 2025.
Capital size is considered one of the core indicators of a bank’s financial strength and expansion capacity. A solid capital base enables banks to grow their investment portfolios, diversify operations, and reflects the resilience of their financial positions and their ability to navigate economic fluctuations while sustaining long-term returns.
Returning to the list, Banque Misr secured second place with capital of EGP 110 billion as of end-June 2025.
Commercial International Bank (CIB) ranked third after reporting capital of EGP 30.71 billion.
Arab African International Bank (AAIB) came in fourth with EGP 24.82 billion, while Banque du Caire captured fifth place with capital of EGP 20.50 billion.
saib ranked sixth, reporting EGP 16.43 billion in capital as of end-June 2025.
In seventh place, FABMISR recorded capital of EGP 15.57 billion.
ADIB – Egypt secured the eighth position after its capital reached EGP 12 billion.
QNB Alahli – Egypt ranked ninth with capital of EGP 10.77 billion.
Finally, Kuwait Finance House – Egypt came in tenth place, reporting EGP 10 billion in capital as of end-June 2025.
