The First Bank list of the fastest-growing banks by assets during the first nine months of 2025 revealed that Emirates NBD-Egypt ranked first, after its asset portfolio grew by 33.6% during the period, reaching EGP 212.30 billion by the end of September 2025, compared to EGP 158.93 billion at the end of 2024.
Suez Canal Bank «SC Bank» came in second, with its asset portfolio increasing by 28.5% during the first nine months of 2025 to EGP 231.52 billion by the end of September 2025, up from EGP 180.19 billion at the end of 2024.
Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank-Egypt «ADCB-Egypt» ranked third, as its assets rose by 25.4% during the first nine months of 2025 to EGP 168.16 billion by the end of September 2025, compared with EGP 134.16 billion at the end of 2024.
The First Bank list monitored total assets for 27 banks operating within the Egyptian banking sector for which financial data were available as of the end of September 2025.
The results showed a clear dominance of the private sector, which captured eight positions among the top 10 fastest-growing banks, namely: Emirates NBD-Egypt, Suez Canal Bank, ADCB-Egypt, ADIB-Egypt, ABK-Egypt, saib, BANK NXT, and Attijariwafa Bank.
State-owned banks secured only two positions within the top 10, with Housing and Development Bank ranking eighth, while Banque Misr came in tenth.
At the level of Arab banking groups operating in Egypt, they accounted for half of the top 10 positions, represented by Emirates NBD, ADCB, ADIB, ABK-Egypt, and Attijariwafa Bank.
Meanwhile, Islamic banks captured only one seat among the top ten, with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB-Egypt» ranking fourth.
Listed banks on the Egyptian Exchange secured four positions among the top 10 fastest-growing banks, namely: Suez Canal Bank, ADIB-Egypt, saib, and Housing and Development Bank.
On the other hand, the data showed that two banks recorded a slight decline in total assets during the first nine months of 2025: EGBANK and Arab African International Bank.
It is worth noting that all values and growth rates cited above are based on the separate published financial statements of each bank as of the end of September 2025.
