The First Bank ranking of the fastest-growing banks in customer deposits during the first nine months of 2025 revealed that Suez Canal Bank topped the list with a growth rate of 32.6%, as its customer deposits portfolio rose to EGP 179.69 billion as of end-September 2025, compared to EGP 135.47 billion at end-2024.
Emirates NBD – Egypt captured second place, supported by a 32.2% increase in customer deposits during the first nine months of 2025, reaching EGP 169.41 billion by end-September 2025, up from EGP 128.18 billion at end-2024.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt (ADIB) ranked third, with its customer deposits portfolio surging by 31.7% during the first nine months of 2025 to EGP 263.83 billion as of end-September 2025, compared to EGP 200.28 billion at end-2024.
The First Bank list tracked the total customer deposits portfolios of 27 banks operating within the Egyptian banking system for which financial data were available as of end-September 2025.
The ranking revealed a clear dominance of the private sector, as private banks accounted for 9 positions among the top 10 fastest-growing banks, namely: Suez Canal Bank, Emirates NBD, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt, saib, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt, First Abu Dhabi Bank – Egypt, BANK NXT, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt, and Attijariwafa Bank Egypt. The only state-owned bank among the top ten was Banque Misr, which ranked tenth.
At the level of Arab banking groups operating in Egypt, they secured six positions among the top 10 fastest-growing banks, represented by: Emirates NBD, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt, ABK – Egypt, First Abu Dhabi Bank – Egypt, ADCB, and Attijariwafa Bank Egypt.
As for Islamic banks, they captured only one position among the top ten, represented by Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt, which ranked third.
Regarding banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), they secured three positions among the top 10 fastest-growing banks, namely: Suez Canal Bank, ADIB, and saib.
It is worth noting that all figures and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are based on the published standalone financial statements of each bank as of end-September 2025.
