Suez Canal Bank tops the ranking of the fastest-growing private-sector banks in net fee and commission income, with ADIB in second place

Foreign banking groups dominate 6 spots among the top 10 fastest-growing private-sector banks.

Islamic banks secure two positions within the top 10 ranking.

CIB continues to lead private-sector banks in terms of the highest net fee and commission income.

Five banks record a noticeable decline in net fee and commission income compared with the same period last year.

The First Bank ranking of the fastest-growing private-sector banks in net fee and commission income during the first nine months of 2025 revealed that Suez Canal Bank topped the list, posting a growth rate of 58.7%, after generating EGP 1.02 billion in net fee and commission income during the first nine months of 2025, compared with EGP 644.33 million in the same period of 2024.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt «ADIB» came in second place with a growth rate of 40.7%, recording net fee and commission income of EGP 2.04 billion during the first nine months of 2025, compared with EGP 1.45 billion in the corresponding period of 2024.

Al Baraka Bank ranked third, achieving a growth rate of 26.3%, after posting net fee and commission income of EGP 766.08 million during the first nine months of 2025, versus EGP 606.70 million during the same period of 2024.

Bank of Alexandria secured fourth place with a growth rate of 25.6%, having generated net fee and commission income of EGP 1.97 billion during the first nine months of 2025, compared with EGP 1.57 billion in the same period of 2024.

The ranking also highlighted the continued leadership of Commercial International Bank «CIB» as the largest private-sector bank in terms of net fee and commission income, after recording EGP 6.43 billion during the first nine months of 2025, compared with EGP 5.21 billion during the same period of 2024, reflecting a growth rate of 23.5%.

The First Bank list monitored net fee and commission income for 20 private-sector banks operating within the Egyptian banking system for which financial data were available during the first nine months of 2025. The data showed that 15 banks achieved positive growth rates, while 5 banks recorded noticeable declines, based on each bank’s published standalone financial statements.

It is worth noting that private-sector banks are defined as those in which private ownership exceeds 50%, according to data from Egypt’s Ministry of Public Business Sector.

The data also reflected strong performance by foreign banking groups operating in Egypt, which dominated 6 positions among the top 10 fastest-growing private-sector banks in net fee and commission income during the first nine months of 2025. These banks include: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Al Baraka Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Crédit Agricole, and Qatar National Bank, while other banking groups were absent from the top ten.
