EGP index Decreased against a basket of major currencies to 39.741 points at today's trading

The Egyptian Pound Index declined against major currencies at the close of trading on Tuesday 26 January 2026, as the index fell to 39.741 points by the end of the session, compared to 39.779 points at the close of trading on Monday.
The decline in the pound index came as a result of its decline against the euro, the pound sterling, the Japanese yen, its stability of the UAE dirham, the Chinese yuan, and its rise against the Saudi riyal, and the dollar at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 55.86 to EGP 56.11 at the end of today’s trading, while the average purchase price rose from EGP 55.73 to EGP 55.98 .
The average selling price of the pound sterling rose from EGP 64.37 to EGP 64.65 at the end of today's trading, while the average purchase price rose from EGP 64.21 to EGP 64.49 by the close of trading.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen rose from EGP 30.61 to EGP 30.68 at the end of today’s trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 30.55 to EGP 30.60 at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan stabilized at EGP 6.77 at the end of the day, while the average purchase price fell from EGP 6.76 to EGP 6.75 .
The average selling price of the UAE dirham also stabilized at EGP 12.82 at the end of today’s trading, while the purchase price in Egypt fell from EGP 12.80 to EGP 12.79 at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal fell from EGP 12.56 to EGP 12.55 at the end of today’s trading, and the average purchase price stabilized at EGP 12.53 by the end of today’s trading.
While the average selling price of the US dollar fell from EGP 47.11 to EGP 47.09 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price fell from EGP 47.01 pounds to EGP 46.99 at the end of today's trading.
