The «First Bank» list of the private sector banks operating in Egypt most focused on investing in financing by the end of September 2025 revealed that «Kuwait Finance House – Egypt» topped the list, with a concentration ratio of 57.13%, after its customer loans portfolio reached EGP 91.64 bn, while its total assets stood at EGP 160.41 bn by the end of last September.
«National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt» ranked second, with 54.22% of its total asset portfolio concentrated in customer loans valued at EGP 119.39 bn, while its total financial position reached EGP 220.17 bn by the end of September 2025.
«QNB – Egypt» secured third place, with a concentration ratio of 48.65%, after its customer loan portfolio reached EGP 421.71 bn, while its total assets amounted to EGP 866.82 bn by the end of September 2025.
The list tracks the investment orientations of 21 private banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for which financial data were available for the period under analysis, specifically at the level of net customer loans. It relies on the metric (Net Customer Loans / Total Assets) to provide an indicator of the extent to which a bank’s assets are concentrated in customer loans.
The list also revealed a strong presence of foreign banking groups operating in Egypt within the ranking, capturing 7 spots among the top ten: «Kuwait Finance House – Egypt», «NBK – Egypt», «QNB», «ABK – Egypt», «Emirates NBD – Egypt», «Al Baraka», and «Attijariwafa».
Banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange secured 4 positions among the top 10 private sector banks most focused on investing in financing: «QNB – Egypt», Suez Canal Bank, «Al Baraka», and «saib».
