EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 35.151 points at today's trading
The Egyptian Pound index decrease against major currencies at the end of trading on Wednesday 22 April 2026, where the value of the index fell to 36.151 points at the end of today's trading, compared to 36.280 points at the end of yesterday’s trading on Tuesday.
The decline of the Pound index came as a result of its decreased against the US dollar, the euro, the pound sterling, the Japanese yen, the Saudi riyal, the Chinese yuan, UAE dirham at the end of today's trading.
The average selling price of the US dollar rose from EGP 51.83 to EGP 52.06 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 51.72 to EGP 51.96 by the close of trading.
The average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 60.96 to EGP 61.05 at the end of today's trading, and the average purchase price rose from EGP 60.83 to EGP 60.93.
The British pound’s selling price rose from EGP 70.08 to EGP 70.25, while the average buying price rose from EGP 69.94 to EGP 70.10.
The Chinese yuan’s average selling price rose from EGP 7.60 to EGP 7.63, while the average buying price rose from EGP 7.59 to EGP 7.61.
The Japanese yen’s average selling price rose from EGP 32.57 to EGP 32.67 , while the average buying price rose from EGP 32.50 to EGP 32.61.
The UAE dirham’s average selling price rose from EGP 14.11 to EGP 14.17, while the average buying price rose from 14.08 EGP to EGP 14.15.
The Saudi riyal’s average selling price rose from EGP 13.82 to EGP 13.88, while the average buying price rose from EGP 13.79 to EGP 13.85.
