Egyptian Pound Index Falls to 36.345 Points Against Major Currencies at the Close of Wednesday, June 10 Trading
The Egyptian Pound Index declined against major currencies at the close of trading on Wednesday, June 10, with the index falling to 36.345 points, compared to 36.398 points at the end of Tuesday’s session.
The decline was driven by the Egyptian pound’s depreciation against the U.S. dollar, euro, British pound, UAE dirham, Saudi riyal, and Chinese yuan, while it remained unchanged against the Japanese yen at the close of trading.
The average selling price of the U.S. dollar rose from EGP 51.77 to EGP 51.88 by the end of the day, while the average buying price increased from EGP 51.67 to EGP 51.78.
The average selling price of the euro edged up from EGP 59.90 to EGP 59.91, while the average buying price rose from EGP 59.77 to EGP 59.79.
The average selling price of the British pound increased from EGP 69.37 to EGP 69.47, while the average buying price climbed from EGP 69.22 to EGP 69.32.
Meanwhile, the average selling price of the UAE dirham rose from EGP 14.09 to EGP 14.13, while the average buying price increased from EGP 14.07 to EGP 14.09.
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal advanced from EGP 13.79 to EGP 13.82, while the average buying price rose from EGP 13.76 to EGP 13.79.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan remained unchanged at EGP 7.65, while the average buying price held steady at EGP 7.64 at the close of trading.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen also remained unchanged at EGP 32.33, while the average buying price was stable at EGP 32.26 by the end of the day.
