Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session
The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 9 March with Increased in the market cap by 2.78% or EGP 276.244 billion compared to EGP 268.768 billion at the end Wednesday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 27.88 % of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 487.365 million which represents 29.30% of the total trading volume today after 10.251 million shares were exchanged capturing 2.81% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increased and turnover amounted EGP 222 million on shares.
The main index on the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” increased by 0. 85% at 16. 555 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks rose by 1.32 % to record 3.060 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 1.26% to record 4. 493 points.
