Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 16 March with decrease in the market cap by 1.12% or EGP 247.470 billion compared to EGP 250.262 billion at the end of Wednesday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 27.93 %of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 389.586 million which represents 18.44% of the total trading volume today after 9.179 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.20% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increased EGX100 only and turnover amounted EGP 37.9 million on shares.

The main index on the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” decreased by 0.14% at 15.052 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks fell by 0.22 % to record 2.574 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 0.07% to record 3.843 points.
