Private sector loans grow by 30.34%, record EGP1.48 tn during 2022

The monthly statistical bulletin of the Central Bank of Egypt revealed that total loans growth of the private business sector in local and foreign currencies by 30.34%, to record EGP1.482 tn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP1.137 tn at the end of December 2021, an increase of EGP345 bn

Loans granted to household sector also jumped by 25.22%, to record EGP764.2 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP610.3 bn at the end of December 2021, an increase of EGP153.9 bn.

Total banking sector loans increased by 32.35% during 2022, to record EGP 4.013 tn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP 3.032 tn at the end of December 2021.
