ADIB Egypt's Deposit portfolio jumped by 28.98%, Records EGP 97.61 bn, At 2022

ADIB Egypt's deposit portfolio increased by 28.98%, to record EGP97.61 bn at the end of 2022, compared to EGP75.68 bn at the end of 2021, an increase of EGP21.93 bn.

local currency Local currency acquired total deposit portfolio share of 82.37%, after the bank’s deposits in Egyptian pounds increased by about 20.83%, to reach EGP 80.40 bn by the end of 2022, compared to EGP 66.54 bn by the end of 2021, an increase of EGP13.86. bn.

foreign currency Deposit portfolio in foreign currencies jumped by 88.32%, to record EGP17.21 bn at the end of 2022, compared to EGP9.14 bn at the end of 2021, an increase of EGP8.07 bn,  17.63% of its total deposits.

The bank’s deposits in euros were the fastest growing during the past year, as it jumped by 89.01%, to reach EGP1.81 bn by the end of 2022, compared to EGP960.06 mn by the end of 2021, an increase of EGP854.59 mn, represents 1.86% of total deposits.

While the bank’s deposits in US dollars  increased by EGP6.88 bn, to record EGP14.76 bn at the end of last year, compared to EGP7.88 bn at the end of 2021, 15.12% of the bank’s total deposits.

Deposits in Japanese yen increased by 69.82%, to reach EGP 4.27 mn by the end of 2022, compared to EGP2.51 mn by the end of 2021, an increase of EGP1.75 mn.

Deposits in sterling pound decreased, to reach EGP 82.999 mn at the end of 2022, compared to EGP 93.533 mn at the end of 2021, 0.09% of the bank’s total deposits.

The bank’s deposit portfolio in other foreign currencies increased, to reach EGP 549.57 mn by the end of 2022, compared to EGP199.24 mn by the end of 2021, an increase of EGP350.33 mn.

The bank's deposits in other foreign currencies acquired 0.56% of the bank’s total deposits by the end of 2022.

It is noteworthy that the bank’s corporate deposit portfolio increased significantly during 2022, as it jumped 69.93%, to reach EGP48.18 bn at the end of last year, compared to EGP28.36 bn at the end of 2021, an increase of EGP19.83 bn.

The individual deposits portfolio rose to 49.43 billion pounds by the end of 2022, compared to 47.32 billion pounds by the end of 2021, with a growth rate of 4.45%, and an increase of 2.11 billion pounds.

The bank’s asset portfolio increased by 29.01%, to record EGP116.83 bn at the end of 2022, compared to EGP90.55 bn at the end of 2021, an increase of EGP26.27 bn.

Total loans increased by 26.25%, to reach EGP59.38 bn by the end of 2022, compared to EGP47.04 bn by the end of 2021, an increase of EGP 12.35 bn.

The bank’s net profit jumped by 50.69%, to record EGP 2.19 bn in 2022, compared to EGP1.45 bn in 2021, an increase of EGP736.62 mn.
