Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session
The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 6 Abril with decrease in the market cap by 2% or EGP262.689 billion compared to EGP268.047 billion at the end of yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 26.02% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 305.409 million which represents 19.72% of the total trading volume today after 8.137 million shares were exchanged capturing 2% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decreased and turnover amounted EGP 178 million on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 1.82% at 17.036 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks fell by 0.35% to record 2.976 points, and the broader index “EGX100” fell by 0.55% to record 4.471 points.
