alBaraka Bank, HD Bank, and ADIB Egypt, are the fastest growing banks in syndicated loans
First Bank list of the fastest growing banks in syndicated loans during the past year revealed that alBaraka Bank - Egypt topped the list with a growth rate of 66.92%, after the bank’s total syndicated loan portfolio rose to EGP 5.1 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP3.1 bn at the end of December 2021.
First Bank list monitored the total syndicated loans of 16 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for whom financial statements were available for the analysis period, and revealed that 12 banks achieved positive growth rates in their total syndicated loans, while 4 banks achieved a decline in their total syndicated loans during the past year.
Housing and Development Bank took second place, after its total portfolio of syndicated loans jumped at a growth rate of 63.64% over the past year, to record EGP 2.1 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP 1.3 bn at the end of December 2021.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - Egypt ranked third, after its total syndicated loan portfolio increased by a growth rate of 40.71% over the past year, to move from EGP 253mn at the end of December 2021 to EGP 356mn at the end of December 2022.
Qatar National Bank Al Ahli ranked fourth, after achieving a growth rate of 40.37% over the past year, bringing the bank’s total syndicated loan portfolio to EGP22.4 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP 16 bn at the end of December 2021, followed by Banque du Caire with a growth rate of 30.76% during same period.
Ahli United Bank came in sixth place, with a growth rate of 28.74% over the past year, after its total syndicated loans increased to EGP6.6 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP 5.1 bn at the end of December 2021.
saib ranked seventh, with a growth rate of 24.09% over the past year, after its total syndicated loans rose to EGP11.6 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP 9.4 bn at the end of December 2021, followed by EGBANK in eighth place with a growth rate of 16.91% during the same period.
Suez Canal Bank came ninth, with a growth rate of 16.56%, after its total syndicated loan portfolio moved from EGP 8.2 bn at the end of December 2021, to EGP 9.6 bn at the end of December 2022, followed by E Bank in tenth place, with a growth rate of 16.19% during the year. the past.
