Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Monday 8 May with increase in the market cap by 0.66 % or EGP 271.461 billion compared to EGP 269.683 billion at the end yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.12% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 162.121 million which represents 7.64% of the total trading volume today after 5.394 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.79% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 52 million on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 2.37% at 17.642 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks rose by 2.47% to record 3.056 points, and the broader index “EGX100” increased by 2.58% to record 4.641 points.
