Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday's closing session
The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Monday 15 May with decrease in the market cap by 2.36 % or EGP 264.411 billion compared to EGP 270.801 billion at the end yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.02% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 480.551 million which represents 21.42% of the total trading volume today after 14.136 million shares were exchanged capturing 2.56% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decreased and turnover amounted EGP 203.5 million on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 1.34% at 17.521 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks fell by 1.92% to record 3.111 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 1.88% to record 4.721 points.
