Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session
The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 18 May with Decrease in the market cap by 1.71% or EGP 266.429 billion compared to EGP 271.220 billion at the end yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.72% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 524.863 million which represents 29.40% of the total trading volume today after 11.045 million shares were exchanged capturing 2.74% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decreased and turnover amounted EGP 80 million on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 0.58 % at 16.874 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks fell by 0.43% to record 2.980 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 0.15% to record 4.511 points.
