CBE: Household sector loans grow by 1.64%, record EGP 777.04 bn At Jan-2023
The latest bulletin of the Central Bank of Egypt, issued on the bank’s website today, revealed that loans granted to Household sector increased by 1.64% during last January, to record EGP777.04 bn at the end of January 2023, compared to EGP764.5 bn at the end of December 2022, an increase of EGP12.5 bn.
Total household sector loans in local currency only increased by 1.42% during January, to record EGP 765.6 bn at the end of January 2023, compared to EGP 754.8 bn at the end of December 2022.
While total household sector loans in foreign currency jumped at a growth rate of 18.29%, to record EGP 11.5 bn at the end of January 2023, compared to EGP 9.7 bn at the end of December 2022.
Total loans to customers from banks increased by a growth rate of 4.78%, to record EGP 4.205 tn at the end of January 2023, compared to EGP 4.013 tn at the end of December 2022.
