Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 15 August with Increase in the market cap by 0.53% to record EGP 285.549 bn compared to EGP 284.039 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.82% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 272.600 mn which represents 11.59% of the total trading volume today after 7.204 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.84% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with Increase and turnover amounted EGP 12.4 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 0.38% and 17.997 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks rose by 0.10 % to record 3.660 points, and the broader index “EGX100” increased by 0.13 % to record 5.391 points.
