CBE: Household sector loans grow by 13.13%, recording EGP 864.9 bn by August-2023End

The latest bulletin of the Central Bank of Egypt, issued on the bank’s website , revealed that loans granted to Household sector increased by 13.13% during 8M 2023, to record EGP864.91 bn at the end of August 2023, compared to EGP764.52 bn at the end of December 2022, an increase of EGP 100. 93bn.
Total household sector loans in local currency only increased by 12.66%. to record EGP 850.38 bn at the end of August 2023, compared to EGP 754.8 bn at the end of December 2022.
While total household sector loans in foreign currency jumped at a growth rate of 50.06%, to record EGP 14.53 bn at the end of August 2023, compared to EGP 9.68 bn at the end of December 2022.
Total loans to customers from banks increased by a growth rate of 22.76%, to record EGP 4.93 tn at the end of August 2023, compared to EGP 4.01 tn at the end of December 2022 an increase of EGP913.5 bn.
