Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Sunday 4 February 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 2.3% to record EGP 474.230 bn compared to EGP 485.275 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.85% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 382.151 mn which represents 7.52% of the total trading volume today after 5.755 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.56% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease EGX30 only and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” Fell by 3.03% and 28.478 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks decreased by 0.80% to record 6.683 points, and the broader index “EGX100” increased by0.23% to record 9.394 points.
