Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Sunday 24 December with decrease in the market cap by 2.3% to record EGP 388.509 bn compared to EGP 397.375 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.32% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 487.015 mn which represents 15.05% of the total trading volume today after 11.577 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.20% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 1.99% and 24.578 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks Fell by 1.42% to record 5.443 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 1.61% to record 7.839 points.
