Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Sunday 7 April 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 1% to record EGP 446.223bn compared to EGP 450.723bn at Yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.40% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 207.716mn which represents 7.45% of the total trading volume today after 3.869 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.60% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase EGX70 only and turnover amounted EGP 178.9mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 1.24% and 28.894points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks increased by 0.05% to record 6.575 points, and the broader index “EGX100” fell by 0.21% to record 9.357 points.
