Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 18 April 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 2.4% to record EGP 448.649 bn compared to EGP 459.876 bn at Yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.38% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 24.38 mn which represents 8.63% of the total trading volume today after 7.396 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.59% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 178.9 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 4.50% EGX70 decreased by 4.82% to record 6.914 points, and the broader index “EGX100” Fell by 5.01% to record 9.853 points.
