Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 14 March 2024 with Increase in the market cap by 1.6% to record EGP 507.742 bn compared to EGP 499.938 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.67% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 816.733 mn which represents 18.19% of the total trading volume today after 10.424 million shares were exchanged capturing 2.10% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 246.6 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 0.98% and 31.593 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks increased by 1.84% to record 6.884 points, and the broader index “EGX100” increased by 1.59% to record 9.887 points.
