Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 9 May 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 0.3% to record EGP 417.950 bn compared to EGP 416.593 bn at Yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.71% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 271.839 mn which represents 9.68% of the total trading volume today after 5.118 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.96% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 178.9 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 0.05%, to record 26.271 points EGX70 increased by 0.13% to record 5.779 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 0.02% to record 8.289 points.
