Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 15 May 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 0.26% to record EGP 411.788 bn compared to EGP 412.879 bn at yesterday 's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.41% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 199.522 mn which represents 7.77% of the total trading volume today after 3.002million shares were exchanged capturing 0.34% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease EGX30 only and turnover amounted EGP 178.9 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 0.09%, to record 25.480 points EGX70 increased by 0.58% to record 5.499points, and the broader index “EGX100” declined by 0.53% to record 7.899 points.
