Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 7 August 2024 with an increase in the market cap by 0.59% to record EGP 44.769 bn compared to EGP 442.161 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.60% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 465.427mn which represents 11.70% of the total trading volume today after 9.300million shares were exchanged capturing 0.95% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 151.7mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 1.48%, to record 28.628 points EGX70 increased by 2.39% to record 6.513 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 2.10% to record 9.335points.
