Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 4 September 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 0.06% to record EGP 462.122bn compared to EGP 462.399bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.91% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 651.953mn which represents 14.09% of the total trading volume today after 19.288million shares were exchanged capturing 1.57% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease "EGX30" alone and turnover amounted EGP 151.7mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 0.07% to reach 31018.48 points EGX70 increase by 0.24% to record 7229.75 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 0.14% to record 10330.20 points.
