Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 1 October 2024 with increase in the market cap by 1.6% to record EGP 471.154bn compared to EGP 463.816bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.31% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 911.440mn which represents 17.05% of the total trading volume today after 15.118 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.47% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 151.7mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 0.88% to reach 31.915 points EGX70 increase by 1.02% to record 7.651 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 0.95% to record 10.876 points.
