Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 3 October 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 0.2% to record EGP 464.588bn compared to EGP 465.491bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 21.67% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 282.589mn which represents 7.32% of the total trading volume today after 6.750 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.84% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 151.7mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 1.24% to reach 31.720 points EGX70 increase by 1.51% to record 7.571 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 1.62% to record 10.784 points.
