Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 22 August 2024 with an increase in the market cap by 0.9% to record EGP 471.325bn compared to EGP 466.909bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.72% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 538.842mn which represents 10.24% of the total trading volume today after 8.006million shares were exchanged capturing 0.58% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with with Increase and turnover amounted EGP 151.7mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 0.76% to reach 30.142 points EGX70 increased by 0.72% to record 6.986 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 0.54% to record 9.981 points.
