Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 8 October 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 2.2% to record EGP 452.619bn compared to EGP 462.641bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 21.61% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 560,328mn which represents 9.17% of the total trading volume today after 9.732 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.06% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 151.7mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 3.04% to reach 31.820 points EGX70 decrease by 2.58% to record 7.610 points, and the broader index “EGX100” fell by 2.81% to record 10.867 points.
