Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 16 October 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 0.4% to record EGP 443.633bn compared to EGP 445.385bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 21.19% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 427.546 which represents 8.22% of the total trading volume today after 9.001 million shares were exchanged capturing 1% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease EGX alone and turnover amounted EGP 151.7mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 0.13% to reach 31.039 points EGX70 increase by 1.58% to record 7.777 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 1.34% to record 10.994 points
