Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 28 August 2024 with an increase in the market cap by 0.2% to record EGP 468.555 compared to EGP 467.442bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached  23.33% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 315.034mn which represents 6.92% of the total trading volume today after 7.860million shares were exchanged capturing 0.74% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with with increase and turnover amounted EGP 151.7mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 1.14% to reach 30.742 points EGX70 increase by 0.80% to record 7.091 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 0.92% to record 10.150 points.
