Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 17 October 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 0.86% to record EGP 439.831bn compared to EGP 443.633bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 21.18% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 208.052 which represents 5.52% of the total trading volume today after 5.224 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.76% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease EGX alone and turnover amounted EGP 27mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 1.31% to reach 30.604 points EGX70 decreased by 0.28% to record 7.749 points, and the broader index “EGX100” fell by 0.71% to record 10.919 points
