Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 19 September 2024 with increase in the market cap by 1.2% to record EGP 458.140bn compared to EGP 452.861bn at  yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.74% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 490.469mn which represents 8.85% of the total trading volume today after 7.173 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.82% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 151.7mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 1.96% to reach 30.937 points EGX70 increase by 0.43% to record 7.144 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 0.82% to record 10.205 points.
