NBE, Banque Misr, and CIB are Egypt’s Largest Corporate Lenders

National Bank of Egypt (NBE) topped the list of the largest corporate lenders in the Egyptian banking sector, capturing 49.38% of total corporate loans as end of June 2025, Banque Misr ranked second with a 16.13% market share.

CIB secured third place with a 4.79% share, while QNB Egypt and the Arab African International Bank (AAIB) came in fourth and fifth with market shares of 4.15% and 2.44%, respectively.

FABMISR, Banque du Caire, and NBK–Egypt was also among the top 10 corporate lenders, with market shares of 1.79%, 1.59%, and 1.18%, respectively.

The First Bank ranking of the largest Egyptian banks by corporate-loan market share as end of June 2025 revealed that the National Bank of Egypt led the list with a 49.38% market share, supported by a corporate-loan portfolio amounting to EGP 3.94 trillion.

The list monitored the total corporate-loan portfolios of 27 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial statements were available as end of June 2025.

Returning to the ranking, Banque Misr secured second place with a 16.13% share of total corporate loans, backed by a portfolio of EGP 1.29 trillion as of the same period.

The Commercial International Bank (CIB) placed third with a 4.79% market share, holding a total corporate-loan portfolio of EGP 381.90 billion as end of June 2025.

QNB Egypt ranked fourth with a 4.15% market share, supported by a corporate-loan portfolio of approximately EGP 331.02 billion.

In fifth place, the Arab African International Bank (AAIB) recorded a 2.44% market share, with a total corporate-loan portfolio of EGP 194.22 billion as end of June 2025.

FABMISR captured sixth place with a 1.79% market share after its corporate-loan portfolio climbed to EGP 142.40 billion.

Banque du Caire ranked seventh with a 1.59% market share and a corporate-loan portfolio of EGP 126.46 billion.

Eighth place went to NBK–Egypt, which recorded a 1.18% market share with a corporate-loan portfolio of EGP 94.01 billion.

ADIB–Egypt secured ninth place with a 1.16% market share after its corporate-finance portfolio rose to EGP 92.58 billion.

The tenth position was claimed by the Suez Canal Bank, which held a 1.11% market share supported by a corporate-loan portfolio of EGP 88.79 billion as end of June 2025.

It is worth noting that all figures and market-share data cited above are based on the standalone financial statements published by each bank as end of June 2025.
