Suez Canal Bank, «ADIB-Egypt», and «Commercial International Bank» Lead Egyptian Exchange-Listed Banks in Loan Growth During 2025
The «First Bank» ranking of the fastest-growing banks in net customer loans during 2025 revealed that Suez Canal Bank secured the top position, posting a growth rate of 63.3%, after its net loan portfolio rose to approximately EGP 122.37 billion by year-end 2025, compared to EGP 74.94 billion at the end of 2024. Second place went to «ADIB-Egypt», which recorded a 53.4% growth rate over the past year, with its net financing portfolio reaching around EGP 147.78 billion by the end of 2025, up from EGP 96.11 billion at the end of 2024. Meanwhile, «Commercial International Bank» ranked third, as its net loan portfolio expanded by 47.6% خلال 2025, reaching EGP 503.36 billion by the end of December, compared to EGP 340.96 billion at the end of 2024. The list, which included 11 banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange out of a total of 12 listed banks for which the necessary financial data were available, showed that all banks achieved positive growth rates in their net customer loan portfolios during 2025. The ranking highlighted the dominance of the private sector, with private banks occupying all top five positions, namely: Suez Canal Bank, «ADIB-Egypt», «Commercial International Bank», «EGBANK», and «QNB Egypt». At the level of Arab banking groups operating in Egypt, they secured two positions among the five fastest-growing listed banks in loan portfolios, represented by «ADIB-Egypt» and «QNB Egypt». Islamic banks captured one seat within the top five, with «ADIB-Egypt» ranking second.
