EGP Index Declines Against Major Currencies to 36.134 Points at the Close of Monday, June 8 Trading
The Egyptian Pound Index declined against major currencies at the close of trading on Monday, June 8, with the index falling to 36.134 points, compared to 36.373 points at the end of trading on Sunday.
The decline in the EGP Index came as a result of the pound weakening against the U.S. dollar, euro, British pound sterling, Japanese yen, UAE dirham, Saudi riyal, and Chinese yuan at the close of trading today.
The average selling price of the U.S. dollar increased from EGP 51.86 to EGP 52.19 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price rose from EGP 51.76 to EGP 52.09.
The average selling price of the euro climbed from EGP 59.76 to EGP 60.23 by the close of trading, while the average buying price increased from EGP 59.63 to EGP 60.11.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan also rose from EGP 7.67 to EGP 7.70 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price increased from EGP 7.65 to EGP 7.68.
Meanwhile, the average selling price of the Japanese yen advanced from EGP 32.36 to EGP 32.63 by the close of trading, while the average buying price rose from EGP 32.28 to EGP 32.56.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham increased from EGP 14.12 to EGP 14.21 by the end of trading, while the average buying price climbed from EGP 14.09 to EGP 14.18.
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal rose from EGP 13.81 to EGP 13.90 by the close of trading, while the average buying price increased from EGP 13.79 to EGP 13.87.
