Egyptian Pound Index Falls to 36.249 Points Against Major Currencies at the Close of thursday, June 11 Trading
The Egyptian Pound Index declined against major currencies at the close of trading on Thursday, June 11, with the index falling to 36.249 points, compared to 36.345 points at the end of Wednesday’s session.
The decline was driven by the Egyptian pound’s depreciation against the U.S. dollar, euro, British pound, UAE dirham, Saudi riyal, and Chinese yuan, the Japanese yen at the close of trading.
The average selling price of the U.S. dollar rose from EGP 51.88 to EGP 52.03 by the end of the day, while the average buying price increased from EGP 51.78 to EGP 51.93.
The average selling price of the euro edged up from EGP 59.91 to EGP 60.04, while the average buying price rose from EGP 59.79 to EGP 59.92.
The average selling price of the British pound increased from EGP 69.47 to EGP 69.54, while the average buying price climbed from EGP 69.32 to EGP 69.39.
Meanwhile, the average selling price of the UAE dirham rose from EGP 14.13 to EGP 14.17, while the average buying price increased from EGP 14.09 to EGP 14.14.
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal advanced from EGP 13.82 to EGP 13.86, while the average buying price rose from EGP 13.79 to EGP 13.83.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan increase from EGP 7.65 to EGP 7.68, while the average buying price rose from EGP 7.64 to EGP 7.66 at the close of trading.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen increase from EGP 32.33 to 32.42, while the average buying price rose from EGP 32.26 to EGP 32.35 by the end of the day.
