The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 16 May with Increase in the market cap by 2.31 % or EGP 270.509 billion compared to EGP 264.411 billion at the end yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.87% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 262.631 million which represents 12.85% of the total trading volume today after 7.087 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.37% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decreased and turnover amounted EGP 213 million on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 0.59% at 17.139 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks fell by 0.52% to record 3.039 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 0.58% to record 4.608 points.
