CBE approves the appointment of Amr El-Ganainy as Deputy CEO and Executive Director at CIB

The Central Bank of Egypt approved the appointment of Amr El-Ganainy as Deputy CEO and Executive Director of Commercial International Bank (CIB) Egypt. El-Ganainy, with over 35 years of banking experience, held various positions, including CEO of the Institutional Sector at Commercial International Bank.
He has served on the boards of several companies and organizations, demonstrating remarkable leadership and expertise in the financial sector.
El-Ganainy's international experience is notable; he was the first Egyptian and youngest individual to hold the position of President of the Arab Federation of Exchanges (ICA) based in Beirut, where he continues to serve as its honorary president.
He also served as an executive board member of the International Financial Markets Association (ACI International) based in Paris and is the founder and president of the Egyptian Association of Financial Market Participants (ACI Egypt), of which he remains an honorary president.
Thanks to his widely recognized reputation and extensive expertise, he was selected as a board member for several major companies in Egypt, spanning aviation, financial services, and telecommunications. Additionally, he was elected to the board of directors of the Egyptian Clearing, Settlement, and Central Depository Company for five consecutive terms from 2005 to 2021.
El-Ganainy's successful banking career, spanning over 35 years, is marked by his outstanding performance in every role he has undertaken, making him one of the prominent executives in the financial sector since earning his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Cairo University in 1985.
He began his professional journey at Suez Canal Bank, where he eventually became the Senior Manager of the International Transactions Department. He later joined Export Development Bank of Egypt in 1994, where he assumed the position of Head of the International Transactions Department.
In 1996, he joined the United Bank of Egypt as part of the new management team tasked with the bank's development. He served as the General Manager of the Capital Market and Correspondent Banking Sector.
In 2004, he joined Commercial International Bank as the General Manager and Head of the Financial Institutions Sector. He excelled in managing the sector due to his strong relationships in both the local and regional financial markets. In 2005, he obtained a certified credit expert certificate from J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, London.
This success continued as he was entrusted by the senior management of Commercial International Bank in 2010 to establish the Institutional Relationships Management Department. Since 2017, he has been serving as the CEO of the Institutional Banking Sector at Commercial International Bank, where he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and guidance, working towards achieving short and medium-term strategic goals in line with the bank's policies, plans, and vision.
His expertise has extended globally, as he was the first Egyptian and the youngest to hold the position of President of the Arab Federation of Exchanges (ICA) based in Beirut. He also maintained the honorary presidency of the federation.
Additionally, he served as an executive board member of the International Financial Markets Association (ACI International) headquartered in Paris. He founded and presided over the Egyptian Association of Financial Market Traders (ACI Egypt) and remained its honorary president.
