CBE's assets jump by 29.3%, reaching EGP4.62 tn by Sep-2023 end

The financial statement of the Central Bank of Egypt, ending last September, revealed a 29.3% growth in the total assets of CBE during the first 9 months of this year, reaching EGP4.621 tn by the end of September 2023, compared to EGP 3.574 tn by the end of December 2022.
Gold reserves increased by 30.2%, totaling EGP235.6 bn by the end of September 2023, compared to about EGP181 bn by the end of December 2022.
CBE's balances with commercial banks surged by 81.5%, reaching approximately EGP4741 bn by the end of September 2023, compared to EGP261.1 bn by the end of December 2022.
Regarding the contributions of CBE to the capital of international financial institutions, its contributions increased from EGP16.190 bn by the end of December 2022 to EGP20.257 bn by the end of September 2023, jumping by 25.1% during the first 9 months of this year.
Additionally, CBE's contributions to the capital of affiliated and sister companies increased by 55.2% during the first 9 months of this year, totaling EGP 46.039 bn by the end of September 2023, compared to EGP29.670 bn by the end of December 2022.
As for the profits of CBE, the bank recorded a net profit of EGP29.072 bn in September 2023, compared to EGP 14.538 bn in the previous month of the same year.
